Dan L. Wright

Newport, NH - Dan L. Wright, 85, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2019 after a long illness.

He was born on June 24, 1934 in Middleton, TN to the late Dan L. Wright, Sr. and Elvira (Plum) Wright.

Dan married the love of his life, Jean Gonyo, on December 15, 1951.  The two shared 68 wonderful years together.

Dan worked as police office in the Newport and Claremont area before moving out west to Illinois and becoming a commercial truck driver.

He loved to barbeque, tinker in his wood shop, and dunk his old-fashioned donuts in his beloved black coffee.  Family was the most important thing to Dan.  He loved his kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all his pets, making sure to spoil each and every one of them.

Dan is predeceased by his parents; his sisters, Delores, Sara, and Peggy; and his brothers, Russell and Edward.  He is survived by his wife, Jean Wright; son, Dan L. Wright, Jr. and his wife, Vicky, of Newport; daughter, Gloria Taylor of Dover; grandchildren, Michelle Roth and her husband, William, of Sunapee, Steven Wright of Newport, and Derek Taylor and his wife, Leah, of Dover; great-grandchildren, John and Johanna Roth, and Desmond and Aislyn Taylor; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
