Hanover, NH: Delores May (Barnum) Gregory went home to Heaven after a period of failing health and short illness on April 2, 2026, surrounded by family during with prayer with Pastor Heidi Jensen North.
She was born February 22, 1944 in Bridgeport, CT to William Barnum, Sr. and June Spellman Barnum.
Delores graduated from Central High School in 1962. She continued her education after high school earning multiple degrees and certifications while being a wonderful wife and mother. She loved to learn and teach. She received her LPN and then her RN degree, working for New London Hospital and several local nursing homes. She wrote the first CNA course in the state of New Hampshire, which was approved by the Board of Nursing and adopted by the American Red Cross in 1988.
Delores found her true passion helping others and was a member of Woman's Aglow International. Her last schooling was to become an ordained Minister and traveled the United States, Asia, and South America on missionary trips.
She was a soft, kind woman who always helped others and would give the shirt off her back. She never judged, and was filled with love, faith, and forgiveness.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Richard Dan Gregory, her grandson Erik Shaw Gregory, her parents, and her siblings Arlene, Charles, James, Paul and William Barnum.
She leaves behind her children, Charlene Kainu of Hanover, NH, Randy Gregory of Sunapee, NH, and Richard Gregory of Massachusetts; her grandchildren John, Kristian, Natalia, Danielle, Micaela, Cameron, Brandon, Gregory and Nick; her great grandchildren Aaron, Josie, Kenzie, Nevaeh, and Phoenix; nieces Becky and Deborah; her in law Madeline Gregory; and many more. She always loved to visit and deeply cared for her sister in law Dixie Barnum, James and Diane, Billy, Paul, Arlene, Margo, Cindy, Diane, Michelle, Samual, Bing and Bianca.
A special thank you for the help and care from Robert Bachand, Joanne Chase, Arlene Lubrano, Jennifer and Ethan Meyette, and all her friends and family of Faith River Church, Heidi Jensen North and Bambi Jensen DeFilippis, and Lake Sunapee VNA and Hospice for help getting her home and making her comfortable.
