Dennis J Filiault

Newport, NH: Dennis J. Filiault, 73, passed away on December 21, 2020 at the Bedford Hills Center in Bedford, NH.  He was born on February 27, 1947 in Claremont, NH to Pearl (Raymond) LaFountain and the late Joseph Filiault.

Dennis grew up in California.  He joined the Navy after high school serving in Vietnam.  He moved back to the Newport/Claremont area working construction and carpentry before spending 42 years working at Sturm-Ruger.

Dennis was a member of the American Legion, Newport Moose Club, and the Forester's Club.  He enjoyed painting, watching sports and Westerns, and loved to bowl.  He liked spending time with his family and friends. 

Dennis was predeceased by his father, Joseph Filiault, and sisters, Diana Simoneau and Gloria Peck.

Surviving family members include his loving wife of 39 years, Debbie (Galpin) Filiault of Newport, daughters, Hope Leclerc and Laura Filiault, both of Newport, grandson, Markes Filiault, brother, Keith LaFountain, Jr., brother in law, Ralph Simoneau, aunts, uncles, and extended family members.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday July 31, 2021 at 1 PM in Chandler Cemetery in Newbury, NH.
