Dorothy "Dotty" J. (Jubb) Keefe

Newport, NH: Dorothy J. Keefe, 87, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 12, 2023 at Woodlawn Care Center.  She was born on August 12, 1935 in Greenfield, MA to the late Harry and Edna (Brooks) Jubb. 

Dotty moved to Newport in 1942 graduating from Newport High School in 1954 and then Fisher College in Boston in 1955.  She worked at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital as a medical secretary.  It was there that she met Dick Keefe whom she married in 1958.

She started selling Avon Products in 1966 and became a district sales manager in 1970.  She received many awards for sales leadership including the National Circle of Excellence, twice.  She retired in 1997.

Dotty and Dick bought a house in Florida which they enjoyed every winter for many years.  She was very active in Newport, especially at her church, where she had been attending since 1942.  She also participated in exercise groups and volunteered at the local thrift shop.  She enjoyed playing cards, golfing, and bowling.  Dotty was independent and good natured.  She never complained and loved to laugh.  She had many friends around Newport and was devoted to her family. 

Dotty was predeceased by her parents, husband, Dick Keefe, and daughter, Sandra Keefe.  She is survived by her son, Dr. Robert Keefe of Pittsford, NY, and her niece Julie Cartier (Gregg) and nephew Timothy Marley.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Congregational Church or a charity of one's choice.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday April 18, 2023 from 7-9 PM at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Newport, NH.  A funeral will be held the following day, Wednesday, at 11 AM at South Congregational Church, 20 Church Street, Newport, with burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
