Grantham, NH- Edna M. (King) Earle, 99, of Route 10N, died Friday, October 22, 2021 at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon, NH.
She was born in Thetford, VT on March 5, 1922, the daughter of Newton and Exilia King. She lived on a farm in the Newport/Grantham area all her life.
Edna enjoyed reading, gardening, and cooking. Many will remember her for her famous popcorn balls and donuts. For many years she donated donuts to the Grantham Fire Department for their auction.
Her husband, Raymond W. Earle, died in 1992. She is also predeceased by her first husband, Herman Sanborn, Sr.; son, Harold Sanborn; grandson, Jamie Barton; stepdaughter, Rena Kathan; son-in-law, Henry Barton; and three brothers and two sisters. Edna is survived by son Herman Sanborn, Jr. (Karla); daughter, Leila Barton; and two brothers, John King and Robert King. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Todd Barton (Sherry), Jamie Barton’s wife, Ann Campbell, Melissa Gaherty (Chris), Herman Sanborn III, and Tinamarie Sanborn; as well as her great-grandchildren Jauntessa Ash, Aubrianna, Devri, and Maciah Barton, and Sean and Kyle Gaherty. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Croydon Congregational Church or the United Methodist Church in Grantham, in her memory
