Goshen, NH-Edward J. Andersen, 78, of Brook Road, died Thursday, June 24, 2021 at The Seasons at Summercrest, Newport, NH.
He was born in Baldwin, LI, NY on August 26, 1942 the son of Edward J. and Anna M. (Gilligan) Andersen.
He lived on Long Island until moving to Goshen in 1982. He started early in his career with Wonder Bread as a route driver in NY and retired as the Branch Manager in 2006.
Funny and outgoing, Ed was a people person and loved to tell jokes. Anybody who knew him probably heard him tell one of his favorites "The Three Rings of Marriage." He served as a selectman for Goshen and worked part time as the transfer station attendant. He liked hunting, fishing, and sports. It wasn't often you'd see him without either his Boston Red Sox or Patriots hat. And, although he thought he was tricked into it, to his surprise, he loved taking ballroom dancing lessons with Joyce. Ed was so loving and kind and had a terrible time saying “no” to anyone, which went hand in hand with his great personality. He loved his family, as well as all the family pets.
He is predeceased by his parents, twin sister, Carol Cline and son-in-law, Bobby McCrossin. Ed is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce (Donner) Andersen of Goshen, NH; three children, Deborah McCrossin of Nashua, NH, Kathy Mason and husband, Michael of Lebanon, NH and Edward Andersen of Sunapee, NH; eight grandchildren, Keith and his wife, Katelyn, Brian, Stacy and fiancée, Edward Shea, Megan, Logan, Nova, Miranda and Kaitlyn; six great grandchildren, Adriana, Owen, Evan, Madison, Connor, and MacKenzie; a sister, Patricia Page of Chatham, NJ; a daughter-in-law, Erin Andersen of Sunapee, NH; and many nieces and nephews.
