Newport, NH: Elizabeth T. Betsy Barrett, 92, of Lorraine Street passed away at her home Friday morning, June 13, 2014, following a long period of declining health.
Betsy was born in Newport, NH, August 20, 1921, daughter to the late Paul Edward and Hazel Winifred (Ryder) Trask. She was raised and educated in Newport graduating from Towle High School then received her teaching certificate from Keene Teaching College. Betsy taught English, Special Ed and other subjects in Claremont, Sunapee, Newport and lastly at Goshen-Lempster. She was a longtime member of the Church of the Epiphany.
She is survived by her daughter: Donna Barrett of Newport, her son Robert G. “Butch” Barrett of Newport, 7 grandchildren: Jessica, Christina, Jonathan, Matthew, Bianca, Michael and Morgan. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond in 1992, also her sister: Carolyn Trask and her granddaughter: Mary Barrett.
Services will be private. Interment will take place at the Eastman Cemetery in Sunapee at the convenience of the family.
