Newport, NH: Emily Aiken, 90, passed away on March 5, 2022 at Sullivan County Nursing Home after a period of declining health. She was born on December 15, 1931 in Brunswick, ME to the late Arthur and Hattie (Linnell) Hodgdon.
Emily married Frederick Aiken in 1962 in Newport and together raised their family here. Emily worked as a banker in a couple of local banks: First National Bank, Citizens National Bank, and Sugar River. She retired in 1995 from Seminole Point. She loved golf and was the first female president of John Cain Golf Course, now named the Newport Golf Club.
Emily was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Frederick Aiken in 1995, and her brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Lucy Hodgdon.
Surviving family members include her daughter Ginny and husband Wayne Palmer; grandchildren Bradley and wife Amanda Palmer; Ryan Palmer and partner Jessica Dennis; great-grandchildren Lilly, Dylan, Caleb, Hayden, Bryce, and Leah Palmer; and Logan, Quinn, and Gavin Rusin.

A graveside service will be held in North Newport Cemetery on Saturday May 7, 2022 at 2 PM.
