Florence E. Young

Unity, NH: Florence E. Young, 94, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2022 at Sullivan County Health Care.  She was born on September 11, 1927 in Boston, MA to the late Eugene and Corrinne (Biladieau) Goyette. 

Florence has lived in this area almost all of her life.  She was a stay at home mom, raising 5 children with her husband of 67 years, Edward L. Young who passed away in 2015.  She loved animals, especially birds and deer.  She liked to cook and was known for her famous spaghetti.  Florence was very smart and enjoyed a good card game.  In her later years, she loved playing Bingo.  She will fondly be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother.

She was predeceased by her parents, siblings, husband, and daughter, Dorothy Guinn.

Surviving family members include her children, Helen "Louise" Peckham (Ed) of Unity, Sandy "Cream" Johnson (Terry) of Hinsdale, NH, Loretta Young of Utah, and Bob Young (Terry) of Unity; brother-in-law, Gene Young of CT; grandchildren, Tammy Baker, Ed Peckham III, Laurie Peckham, Danny Peckham, Justin Johnson, Neil Young, Kristen Nelson, Matthew Bleisch, Jesse Habbick, Patty Habbick, Joshua Young, and Christopher Young; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. The family would  like to thank all the staff at Sullivan County Home for their excellent care.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 11 AM at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Newport, NH.
