Fredric "Mark" Shepard Obituary

Newport, NH - Fredric “Mark” Shepard of  Cheney Street in Newport passed away peacefully at Woodlawn on Sunday, April 5.  He was born on January 18, 1934, in Newport, New Hampshire, to the late Amos and Margarette Shepard. Mark was educated in Newport, graduating from Towle High School in the class of 1952.  Mark owned a Pepperidge Farm bread route from 1960 through 1986 when he retired.     

Mark served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army.

Mark enjoyed fishing, playing Pitch and driving the roads of Newport in his little red Miata.  Mark was a member of the American Legion, the VFW and the Moose Club. Mark was an avid fan of Newport High School football and baseball.

Mark is survived by his wife of 64 years, Beverly, and is predeceased by their son, Mark E. Shepard.  Surviving family includes his sister, Nancy Root of Cornish, NH; several nieces and nephews; and some very special friends and neighbors.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Post 25 Scholarship Fund, PO Box 51, Newport, NH 03773 . Per Mark’s wishes, no public services will be held. A private burial will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
