Newport, NH: Helen Parizo, 84, passed away peacefully at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center on October 30, 2020. She was born on March 14, 1936 in Plymouth, NH to the late John and Mary Ellison. She moved to Newport at an early age and has lived here her entire life.
Helen worked in Newport shoe shops and at Sylvania before retirement. She enjoyed gardening, baking delicious treats to share, and playing bingo. She liked to dance, especially to Old Time Rock and Roll by Bob Seger. Helen was kind and gentle and loved spending time with family and friends. Holidays were her favorite time when she could get together with loved ones. She will be missed.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, Maurice Parizo, Sr., son, Maurice Parizo, Jr., great-grandchildren, TJ and Brittany Simpson, and Colby Morse, siblings, Charlotte, Robert, Joseph, John, Richard, and Nelson Ellison, William and Roger Evans, Linda West, and Sue Benson, and sons in law, Steve Benson and Billy Gobin.
Surviving family include her daughters, Gloria Gobin and Cindy Colby and her husband, Donald, all of Newport, 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and many other extended family members.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday November 7, 2020 from 3 to 5 PM at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Newport, NH. A graveside service will be held on Friday November 13, 2020 at 3PM at Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport.
