Sunapee, NH: Isabel B. Torno, 97, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2020 at her home in Sunapee with her daughter by her side. She was born on October 25, 1922 in Holyoke, MA to the late Warren and Lily (Smith) Burnett.
Isabel served her country during WWII in the United States Navy being stationed in Pensacola, FL. She and her husband moved to Connecticut and later to Sunapee where she has lived for more than 50 years. Isabel worked for many years for George Dorr of Dorr Woolen Mill and and MJ Harrington Jewelers in Newport for more than 10 years. She volunteered at the Sunapee Thrift Shop and at the Sunapee Information Booth until she was 91 years old. Isabel was a longtime member of South Congregational Church in Newport. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, reading, sitting on her porch, and weeding her garden.
She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Torno, son, Karl Torno, and son-in-law, T. Brooks LaClair. She is survived by her daughter, Linda LaClair of Sunapee.

A funeral service will take place on July 25, 2020 at 1 pm at the Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home in Newport, NH. Burial with military honors will immediately follow at Eastman Cemetery in Sunapee, NH.
