Newport, NH: Ivis Jean Thurber passed away suddenly and unexpectedly of medical issues at her home in Newport on April 14, 2022.
Ivis was born in Claremont, NH to Sidney Thurber and Diane (Morse) Thurber on March 25, 1978. She spent her whole life in the Claremont/Newport area. She enjoyed day trips and loved to go to the ocean. She loved spending time with her family and had a great relationship with her dad; he was her role model and her rock. She spent many years working as a caregiver and was great at taking care of others.
Ivis loved her grandchildren and always wanted to spend time with them. She was very proud of her own children. She was known for her sense of humor, of being a riot at gatherings, and a social butterfly. She enjoyed crafts and baking, and loved hard candy.
She was predeceased by her father, Sidney Thurber; her grandparents, Ina and Nathaniel Thurber; and her longtime companion, Fred Clough, Jr. Surviving family members include her mother, Diane Thurber; her fiancé, Chris Ayotte; her son, Freddy Clough; her daughters, Topanga Clough and fiancé Ronald Dunbar, Selena Clough and partner Chase Larue, and Kaylee Clough and partner Jacob Cross; her brother, Fred Elwell; her sisters, Roseanna Rice and partner Scott Hunter, Sheila Brochu and husband Justin Brochu, and Andrea Thurber and fiancé Tim Beard; her three grandchildren, Nova, Ida, and Zayden; and many extended family members and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 beginning at 5:00 PM, followed by a service at 6:00 PM at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Newport, NH.
