Jane M. (Gould) O'Clair

Newport, NH: Jane M. O'Clair, 86, passed away on August 16, 2023 at Valley Regional Hospital after a sudden illness.

Jane was born in Newport to Earl and Blanche (Farewell) Gould on June 27, 1937. She lived in Newport all her life. She met Philip O'Clair here, and married him July 30, 1955. They shared 37 happy years together before he sadly passed in 1992.

She worked in various shoe shops around town, then at Sturm-Ruger for 29 years before retiring in 2002.

Jane loved her lawn and her garden. She took immaculate care of her lawn and home up until her illness a few weeks prior. She snow-blowed her driveway in winter, and swept it clean in the summer. She loved spending time with her dog, Tucker.

She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Kenny and Donald Gould, and her sisters Marjorie Wilcox and Earlene Dowlin.

Surviving family includes her daughters: Donna Richardson of Port St. John, FL; Susan Spreadbury and her husband Marty of Palm Bay, FL; and Cindy Spear and her husband Mark of Sunapee, NH; her sisters Gertrude Lewis and Hazel King, both of Newport, NH; her six grandchildren: Nicole Blevins, Michael Spear, Andrew Spear, Joshua Spreadbury, Adam and TJ Richardson; her five great-grandchildren: Marcus Blevins, Philip and Zachary Spreadbury, Oliver Wobbe, and Kinley Spear; her Aunt Bunny Perry, her neighbor Bobby, her best friend Edith Rossiter, and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
