Unity, NH: Jeremiah W. Chartier, 51, died in a workplace accident on September 26, 2024. He was born on February 16, 1973 in Claremont, NH to the late Gene and Louise (Smith) Chartier. Jere grew up in the Newport area graduating from Newport High School with the class of 1992. He lived in the Newport/Unity area his entire life.
Jere met and married Ammie Wright and they were together for 30 years and just recently celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary. They raised their children in Unity, and Jere was so proud of his sons. Jere and Ammie loved spending time together and they would take date weekends away. Jere liked activities including bowling and mini golf. He was his kids’ biggest fan and would attend all of their football games and tractor pulls.
Jere was a talented and hardworking man who always did the job right the first time. Fix it right, no Band Aids needed. He was an incredible welder who spent many years working for himself and worked the last couple years welding at Durgin and Crowell. Jere loved building things, welding, painting race cars, car shows, and working on hot rods in his garage. He enjoyed all aspects of working on cars, and pulling tractors (they had to be John Deere). Jere was funny, kind, and always willing to lend a hand to someone. He liked music, especially 80’s rock, and always wanted to spend time with his family.
Jere was predeceased by his parents, and by a sister, Brandy Osgood.
