Newport, NH: Jerry M. Proper, 69, died in a motorcycle accident on September 7, 2020 in Boscawen, NH. He was born on July 28, 1951 in St. Albans, VT to the late Horace and Elaner (Peno) Proper.
Jerry spent a few years in Southington, CT before moving to the Newport/Sunapee area where he has lived with his family for about 50 years. Jerry worked as a CNC Machinist at Micro Precision for more than 47 years. He married Eunice Collins and they have shared 48 years together.
Jerry was a kind person who loved his family. He could be blunt and straightforward. He enjoyed old country music, Nascar, and car racing. Jerry liked playing bingo, going to yard sales, and going out to an early breakfast on weekends to visit with his friends. He loved riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents and his Granddaughter Mindy Lee Proper. His Grandson Cody Pillsbury also tragically passed with him on the same day.
Surviving family include his wife Eunice A. Proper, his daughters Laura Glynn and her fiance Emery Rines, Angela Proper, and Erica Proper. Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren include Justin Pillsbury, Mandy Pillsbury, Jesse Ford, Cody Pillsbury (Deceased), Mindy Proper (Deceased), Kassidee Pillsbury, Chevy Wetherby, Virginia Wetherby, Aaron Pillsbury, Zoey Pillsbury, and Vincent Ford.
Brothers and sisters include Roland Proper of Newport, Randy Proper of Newport, Margaret (Peg) Fowler of Claremont, Elizabeth (Liz) Proper of Claremont, Michael Proper of Alabama, James Proper of Georgia, and Kathy LaFountain of Newport.
Nieces and nephews include Mark Proper, Chris Proper, Traci Chisholm, Amber Proper-Harris, Julie Proper, Jeremy Proper, Jodie Proper, Laura LaFountain, Gary LaFountain, Barbara LaFountain Clift, John Proper and Todd Proper.
He also had many friends whom he loved dearly.
A memorial service and reception will be held on Saturday September 19th at the Newport Moose Lodge at 33 Unity Road in Newport NH from 1 PM-4 PM.
