John L. Dodge

Springfield, VT - John L. Dodge passed away on December 31, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

John was born on October 9, 1940 in Boston, MA  to the late William "Bill" and Cecile (Leavitt) Dodge.

He grew up in Springfield, VT,  graduating from high school in 1959 before he joined the army.  While serving, he was stationed in Thailand.  He then moved to Cavendish, VT before finally settling down in North Springfield, working with his brothers at Dodge Brother Concrete, until he retired.  

Although John was a quiet man, he always loved telling jokes to make others (and himself) smile.  His hobbies were fishing, going to the movies, and taking long walks in the woods with his dog, April.  He also enjoyed taking his friend, Dotty Garland, to church dinners and an afternoon matinee.  John was easy going and a wonderful and loving uncle.  He was dearly loved by his many nieces and nephews. 

John is predeceased by his parents; brothers, Robert Dodge, Mark Dodge; and sisters-in-law, Elsie Dodge and Annette Dodge.  He is survived by his brother, Joseph Dodge (Diane); nieces, Jennifer Dodge, Deborah Dodge (Stanley Wisnioski III), Amy Dodge, Joanna Lordon (Stewart),and  Amanda Dodge (Shadligh); nephews, Chris Dodge (Sambraa), and  Andrew Dodge (Cassandra); grand-nieces, Charlotte Wisnioski, Sheila LoChiatto, Jillian Bublat (Kurt), Jennifer Hagbi (Tal), Bethany Burkhardt, Ciara Hendee (Corey), and Morgan Dodge; grand-nephews, Vito Spano, Dante Spano, Stanley IV Wisnioski and  Zac Dodge; great-grand-nieces, Lauren, Abby, Amelia, Madi, Riley, Rosie and Isabella.; great-grand-nephews, Joseph, Braden, Elias, Carson and Clyde.

Rest in peace, John.  You will be missed.
