Jordan "Jay" Derderian, Jr. Obituary

Newbury, NH - Jordan "Jay" Derderian, Jr. died peacefully in Lebanon, NH on May 28, 2021 at the age of 75, after a long illness.

He was born on March 20, 1946 to Louise and Jordan Derderian, Sr.

He graduated from Worcester State University in 1969 with a Degree in Teaching Secondary Mathematics and Science.  He also graduated from Assumption College with a Master's Degree in Special Education, where he met and wed Pamela (formally Vasil) in 1975.  He then attended Boston College and received a Certificate of Advanced Educational Studies in Administration in 1980.

After moving to New Hampshire in 1983, he began working as a public guardian for the State of Vermont.  He represented special needs adults for 27 years.

Over a period of time we welcomed one child, Bobby, into our home.  Bobby remembers him as a kind and gentle person, who always looked out for him.

Jay was an accomplished singer, children's magician, and tax preparer.  He was also a dedicated member of South Church in Newport, NH.

After retiring from Vermont, he spent time volunteer driving for patients who needed transportation to medical appointments.

A memorial service, in his honor, is planned for Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 11 am at South Congregational Church in Newport, NH.  All are welcome to attend to celebrate Jay's life, but seating is limited.
