Joyce A. (Linton) Jordan

Newport, NH: Joyce A. Jordan, 93, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on October 24, 2023 at her home in Newport.  She was born in Croydon on March 10, 1930 to the late Leon and Florence (Persons) Linton.  

Joyce attended Keene Teacher's College for a year before teaching at the Little Red Schoolhouse in Croydon.  She then moved to Keene with her family and spent more than 30 years working at Miniature Precision Bearings.  She was a volunteer grandparent at Richards School in Newport and Keene Elementary School.  She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile.  She enjoyed camping, going to the beach, cooking, antiques, and going to flea markets with her family.

Surviving family members include her son, Jerry Jordan and his wife Carolanne; daughter, Sharon Pliska; grandchildren, Marissa Jordan, Steve Jordan, Samantha Pliska, and Laura Morley; sister, Shirley Kowalczyk; and other extended family members.

Joyce was predeceased by her parents; husband, Wilfred Jordan; son, Stephen Jordan; son in law, Richard Pliska; sister, Eleanor Reney; and brother, Buddy Linton. 

A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday November 2, 2023 at 1 PM at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home in Newport.  Burial will be private in Swanzey, NH.
