Kathleen Driscoll Obituary

Kathleen Marie Driscoll, 59, of Sunapee, New Hampshire passed unexpectedly on January 6th, 2025 in the warmth of Florida’s sunshine.

Born September 18th 1965 in Boston, Massachusetts as Kathleen Marie King, to parents Richard King and Carol Donovan, she was the youngest of three. After Graduating in 1982, she went on to pursue a career in Pet Grooming and Management through Pedigree Professional Grooming School of Lynn, Mass, graduating in 1983.

Kathleen went on to marry her beloved, and lifetime companion, Matthew D Driscoll, of Boston Massachusetts, in 1988. They moved to Claremont, NH in 1985. Together they welcomed two children, Matthew J Driscoll, and Kaitlin M Driscoll, while both pursuing successful careers in New Hampshire. Kathleen kicked off her initial business venture, “Grooming Dale’s” on Washington Street of Claremont, NH. Shortly after, in 1997, she moved to a better accommodating facility on Pleasant Street in Claremont, NH. Subsequently, in 2000 she sold the business to Dean Hill Pet Center in Charlestown, NH. She retained employment there until 2004, when she opened her well-recognized Boarding/Grooming facility in Sunapee, NH known as KD’S Top Dog Kennels. Her commitment to the furry family members of others made her well-recognized as a pillar of the community.

Her passion and attention to the livelihood of all critters (especially her poodles and horses) made her tender, treasured, and well-respected spirit. Vibrancy was a premier component of Kathleen’s overall character. She was never without a kind word, corny pun, brilliant garden, or audibly therapeutic laugh to anyone in earshot. There are likely many strangers out there who have stifled a laugh at her intentional silliness, all in the name of a smile.

When not working or with family, she immersed herself in her most fancied activities such as: Thrifting, Gardening, beadwork, horseback riding, and various home decor updates which may have given her husband a mild headache!  A woman with many humble aspirations, she was certain to obtain them all, and give back tenfold.

Remaining to cherish Kathleen’s memory are Matthew D Driscoll, husband; Matthew J Driscoll, son; Kaitlin M Bartlett-Driscoll, daughter; Richard King, brother; Debra King, sister, and a multitude of admired friends and family throughout her life.

Kathleen’s heart was etched with the craftsmanship of God and Nature, a woman of sensitive potency. A resilient woman who embraced the magic of the miniscule and molded it to be monumental. A woman who offered her hand to any and all in need. Her soul is intrinsically composed of the colorful prisms of which reflect her benevolent conviction. This world will ache without her presence, but will continue to reap the impact of her altruism and unremitting love.

Services will be held at noon on May 10th at Eastman Cemetery, 490 North Road  Sunapee, NH through Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Kathleen would prefer a donation toward Toys for Tots via WCNL Newport, NH this coming holiday season, or a simple take-home of a wilting grocery store plant, animal in need, or even filling a bird feeder.
