Kathy Devon Obituary

Kathy L. Devon died the morning of May 22, 2024 at her home in Perkinsville, Vermont. Bill, her devoted husband and partner for 35 years, was at her side when Kathy passed. Kathy died of pancreatic cancer which she fought with her usual determination and courage.

Kathy was born in Newport, NH on December 13, 1955. She was the daughter of Richard Armstrong and Margaret Louiselle Armstrong.

Kathy attended Newport High School and received her GED in 1975. She also enrolled in the Claremont Adult High School Diploma program and earned her diploma in 1998. She continued her education at the New Hampshire Community Technical College, achieving certification as a Medical Administrative Assistant in 2000.

She met her future husband Bill Devon on a blind date on St. Patrick's Day, 1989, which they always considered their "anniversary". They made it official on July 30, 1994 and celebrated with such a special honeymoon to Cozumel, Mexico that every year thereafter Kathy and Bill escaped the New England winter to a sunny, warm island. If Bill was occupied, then Kathy and her cousins Lisa Lee and Bonnie Burrows traveled to the beach.

Kathy and Bill bonded over a shared love of turkey hunting. She became a Diamond Lifetime Member of the National Wild Turkey Federation. She and Bill traveled to the Scarborough Moose Lodge for the Annual Lobster Bake, and while Bill might go fishing she once again made her way to the beach to relax in the sun.

Kathy was a talented dancer. At any of the clubs she and Bill visited she always showed off her moves on the dance floor when the band would begin to play.

Kathy was a Life Member of the Moose Lodge #1236 in Newport, NH, the VFW Post #808 in Claremont, NH, the Elks Lodge #879 in Claremont, NH, the American Legion Post #29 in Claremont, NH and the Foresters in Newport, NH.

Kathy is survived by her husband Bill, her brother Richard "Dick" Armstrong and sister-in-law Dee, her two daughters: Rene Marsh and partner Mike, Elyse Griffin and partner Craig, and four grandchildren: Ryan Bailey, Kira Middleton, Steve Young III, and Hayley Boyer, and one great granddaughter, Olivia Middleton.
