It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Larry "Jug" Richardson. He left this world on Nov. 6, 2024 after a long bout of lung cancer. His doctor was pleasantly surprised he lived as long as he did, but Jug was determined to live until hunting season and also his 34th wedding anniversary with his beloved wife; he met both of those goals.
Most of his working years were spent doing concrete work in one form or another. His two favorite past times were hunting and fishing. Some of his favorite memories were fishing with one of his best friends, Scott, on Scott's boat.
Jug was born on March 8, 1948 to Chris and Tootie Richardson. He was predeceased by his parents, his beloved older brother, Brian, his maternal grandmother, Agnes French, his uncle Fred Smith, and several other aunts and uncles, as well as many dear cousins and friends.
Jug is survived by his wife, Cheryl, his sister-in-law, Sandee, his oldest nephew, Brent and his wife Pam, and their 7 children- Scott, Ben, Jen, Jeremy, Alex, Jessica, and Mitchell, as well as their spouses and children; his younger nephew Brad and his wife Debbie and their two sons, Brian and Brenden. He is also survived by a favorite cousin, Terry and her husband Charlie and their sons. More survivors include his sister Brenda and her family, dear friends Chuck Tatro, Sr., and his daughter Sheila, Scott Richardson, Eric Jackson, Barry Gay and his partner Heather, Ginny Murdy and her son Shawn, John and Robin Oulette, Al Urista, Pam Kelly, and his "girlfriend" Shirley Davis.
Special thank you's to his doctor, Ben Holobowicz, the hospice team, special nurses, Jo-Jo and Sharon, and his massager, Robin, who all made his last weeks of life easier.
There will be no funeral services at Jug's request. A celebration of life will take place next summer.
In lieu of flowers, Jug would like it if people would donate to the Salvation Army.
