Unity, NH: Linda Hathaway, 83, passed away peacefully at Sullivan County Healthcare in Unity, NH on December 5, 2024. She was born on February 19, 1941 in Keysville, NY to the late Herman and Kathleen (Besaw) Honney. She spent her early years in Cornish, NH.
Everyone that knew Linda realized quickly that Linda mastered the skill of oil painting. Linda could put on canvas what it felt like to be in her world of the most beautiful picture postcards combined with all the love, determination, and strength she could muster in her hands holding the brush. Her paintings won several ribbons at the county fair. Linda got her first love for oil painting from her beloved Aunt Virginia, she also took art and painting classes from a talented woman in Cornish NH.
While working at the Red Cross, she honed in on her resourcing and detective skills in reuniting a woman with her long lost brother. She loved her wonderful Yorkie Poo named Baby that she had for 11 years.
She held very significant positions including Project Management Administrative/Document Control Office at Shepard Steel Co., of Hartford, CT, Administrative Assistant at Seabury Retirement Community of Bloomfield, CT, Branch Office Administrator at Bankers Life and Casualty of West Hartford, CT, Junior Buyer at Ensign Bickford of Simsbury, CT, Office Manager at APC Paper Company of Claremont, NH, and Executive Director at American Red Cross of Sullivan County, NH.
She was predeceased by her parents and her siblings, Kathy Pecor, Burt Honney, and Herman Honney.
Her family includes her daughters, Lynette Kenney, Leanna Cartland, and Lorice Pierce-Lamas; sister, Wilma Clough; grandchildren, Travis and Noah Whippie, Calvin and Jared Dancler, Kaelyn Kennedy, and Logan Deschaine; great-granddaughter, Abilgail Brow; ex husbands, Larry Trepanier and Ashley Hathaway; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial contributions in her name may be made to your local favorite animal shelter. Linda was known for running our country store, then a pet care business with cats and dogs galore. Determined through adversity and loved by all, she made everyone feel special as she stood proud and tall. Linda was known for her purple, lilac, and lace. Lavender, wisteria, and insurmountable grace.
