Linda M (Leslie) Reed

Newport, NH: Linda M. Reed, 74, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2022 at Dartmouth Health after a courageous and prolonged period of declining health.  She was born on July 16, 1947 in Newport, NH to the late Walter and June (Gamash) Leslie.  

Linda lived in the Newport area her entire life.  She worked at several jobs over the years including Sportwelt Shoe, Sturm-Ruger, and Lake Sunapee VNA.  She enjoyed fishing, day trips, yard sales, collecting and was a knitting whiz.  She was a devoted mother and caregiver.  She became the person in the family everyone sought out to find out what was going on.  She was a generous friend and aunt.  Her pets were considered family.  She always took what life handed her and made the best of it.

Linda was predeceased by her parents; son, Bernard Reed;  husband, Dennis Reed, brothers, James and Richard Leslie, long-time partner Eddie Vance, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Surviving family include her sons, Michael Reed and his fiancé, Christina Allen of Newport, Dennis Reed of Hillsborough, NH, and brother, Ronald Leslie and his wife, Donna, of Croydon, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday June 15, 2022 at 11 AM at Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport.
