Newport, NH: Marcia A. Day, 69, passed away on November 9, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family after a hard battle with cancer, which she fought so hard. She was very strong during a difficult time. She was born in Wilder, VT on January 7, 1953.
Marcia went to school in Newport, NH graduating from high school before going to work. She spent many years working as a Certified Nurse's Aide at the Clough Center in New London as well as at Sunapee Cove, Summercrest, and Woodlawn. She was very caring and thoughtful and loved working with her patients.
She was a loving her mother, always there for her daughter to cheer her up with a joke, giving her all the support she could. Her and her husband, Gordon, shared a love so deep and undeniable anyone could see it when they looked at each other. She loved being a Mimi, and when she saw her grandson, her entire face would light up; he was her world. She was well known for having a heart of gold.
Marcia enjoyed baking, especially strawberry rhubarb pies, watching the birds, and spending time in her gardens. She loved her family and will be dearly missed.
She was predeceased by her parents, John Koloski, Sr. and Charlotte Parker Lavigne, her stepfather Donald Lavigne, father in law Chester Day, brother, John Koloski, Jr., sister, Bonnie Beauchaine, and nephew, Shawn Koloski.
Surviving family members include her loving husband of 35 years, Gordon Day of Newport; daughter, Crystal Day and her partner, Nick Decato of Newport; grandson, Dylan Menard; daughter, Melissa Powell of Lempster; and sisters, Tina Lavigne and Pamela Aubin.
No formal services will be held; a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, in memory of Marcia's bravery and strength, will be grateful.
