Margaret E. (Pye) Currier

Claremont, NH: Margaret E. Currier, 81 passed peacefully after a brief period of declining health on September 4, 2022.

Margaret (Peg) was born January 23, 1941 in Newport NH. She is the third child of James and Bernice (Walker) Pye.

Peg grew up in Newport NH and attended Newport schools. She worked at Lakeside Lodge as a teenager, Sportwelt Shoe Company for many years, and Newport Police Department for 20 years as an emergency dispatcher. Peg retired in 1991.

She married Floyd (Froggy) Edger Currier June 15, 1963, celebrating 53 years of marriage in 2016. They lived in Newport, NH until 1991. After retirement they spent twenty-two summers on Baxter Lake in Rochester, New Hampshire and the winter months in St. Cloud Florida.

Peg was a marksman shooter, she enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, crocheting, cooking, and being horseshoe tournament director for many years. She raised two children. She enjoyed caring for many pets through the years, and she especially enjoyed gathering the family together on Christmas, her favorite holiday.

Peg was very strong willed, excellent provider, good humored, loving Wife, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and Friend to many. She was Nana to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her family deeply and will be greatly missed by all.

She was predeceased by her parents, an infant brother; Fred Pye in 1935, her husband; Froggy in 2016, her grandson; Ryan Ferris in 1999, and her beloved Shih Tzu; Sophie in 2022

Peg leaves a sister; Frances (Fran) Perkins of Carrollton, Texas, a daughter; Gwen Sheehan and her husband Billy of Claremont, New Hampshire. A son; Rick Currier of Newport, New Hampshire. Grandchildren; Corey Sheehan and his wife Jennifer of Hillsboro, New Hampshire; Nicole Bellavance and her husband Justin of Newport, New Hampshire; Brandon Currier of Newport, New Hampshire. Greatgrand children; Willem Sheehan, Tucker Sheehan, Tate Sheehan, Evelyn Bellavance and Lincoln Bellavance, Niece; Amber Neal and her husband Jeff of Carrollton Texas, Great-nephew; Evan Saulnier, and his partner Amelia of Nashua New Hampshire; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside service and burial will take place 1 pm on Saturday October 29, 2022 at The Grantham Memorial Cemetery.
