Maxine Wiggins-Guimond Obituary

Warner, NH: Maxine B. Wiggins-Guimond, 86, passed away peacefully due to her declining health at Pine Rock Manor on March 5, 2023.

Maxine was born in Newport, NH on December 4, 1936 to Howard Greenleaf, Sr. and Lillian (Clukey) Greenleaf. She was raised in Newport, where she graduated from Towle High School in 1954.

After she was married, she stayed home to raise her children. Later on, she went to work for Richards School as a Teacher's Aid for 2 years. After that, she started as a Teller at Lake Sunapee Bank in 1974, where she worked for 28 years, and worked her way up to Customer Service Officer. She retired in 2001.

She had many hobbies, including bowling, sewing and making clothes for her girls when they were young, visits to York, ME with her family, and playing Bingo and Rummikub with her friend Spunky Dodge. She was an avid bookworm, loved word finds and solitaire, baking and cooking, especially her spaghetti and meatballs. She loved her dogs and cats.

Maxine was very active in her community. She belonged to St. Patrick Church and the Women's Catholic Club, the Newport Senior Center as well as the Newport Service Organization, and volunteered at the thrift shop.

Maxine loved her four children and grandchildren. They had a lot of fun together and were very close.

She was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, John Wiggins; her second husband, Richard Guimond; her sister Marilyn LaCasse; her sister Marion Townsend; her brothers, Arnold, Bobby, Dickie, Freddy, and Raymond Greenleaf; and her daughter, Dawna Wiggins.

She is survived by her brother Howard Greenleaf, Jr. and his wife Jeannie of Derry, NH; her daughter Heather Robbins and her husband James of Hawthorne, NY; her daughter Sandra Wiggins of White Plains, NY; her son, Toby Wiggins of Sunapee, NH and his ex wife Dyna Rose Badilla; her grandchildren, Samantha Wiggins, Monfed Badilla, Matthew Robbins, and James Robbins V; her great grandchild Christian Robbins; her beloved nieces, Marie (Reese) Wiggins and Patryc Wiggins, who provided her so much care and support; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local Humane Society, Lake Sunapee VNA and Hospice, or St. Patrick Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 11 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 32 Beech St., Newport, NH, followed by burial at Pine Grove Cemetery. A reception will be held afterwards at Assumption Hall at the Church.
