Newport, NH: A journey through the life of Michelle Marie Haskell, a radiant soul who graced the world with her presence. The stars above wept when she departed unexpectedly on December 7th, 2023, due to a heart attack. Born in Claremont, NH to Carol J. (Haskell) Holt, Michelle spent her childhood in Claremont before moving to Newport with her little sister and her children, Ethan & Desirea Meyette and Alyssa Dodge. Over the years, she enriched the world as a daughter, sister, mother, and friend. Her spirit touched many lives, and her absence will be deeply felt, especially by her family.
In her late 20s, Michelle discovered her passion for serving others and became an LNA - dedicating herself to caring for those who needed her at the Sullivan County Nursing Home. Later, she became a Homecare Provider, and her selflessness knew no bounds. Michelle's love for crafting, watching TV, and spending time with her loved ones, including her cuddly cat, Ferguson, brought her joy. She also loved driving around in her Shelby Mustang.
Michelle's legacy lives on through her children - Ethan Meyette and his wife, Jen, of Newport, NH, Desirea Meyette of Claremont, NH, and Alyssa Dodge of Claremont, NH - and her granddaughter, Kinsley, grandson, Gaige, and a granddaughter, Kehlani, who blessed our distraught family with her beautiful presence on Monday, December 11th, 2023.
Michelle is survived by her mother, Carol Holt, of Claremont, NH, and her little sister Heidi (Haskell) and brother-in-law Luke Remick, a niece, and two nephews of Mount Joy, PA. Her Aunt Bev and Uncle Rodney LaClair of Newport, NH, and many cousins.
Michelle's grandparents, Stanley and Marjorie Haskell; aunts, Rebecca Haskell and Kathleen Coull; and uncle, David Haskell, preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 6th, 2024, at 1 pm, at the Foresters of America, 38 Maple Street in Newport, NH, to honor Michelle's life and the everlasting impact she had on those around her.
