Nancy Lee DeCesare

Newport, NH: Nancy L. DeCesare, 78, passed away peacefully at her home on September 12, 2022 from complications of leukemia lymphoma.  She was born on January 1, 1944 in Newport, NH to the late Arthur and Lena (Couture) Brayton. 

Nancy was a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph Secular Carmelite in Concord, NH.  She was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of St. Patrick Parish.  Nancy worked at Dorr Mill Store for more than 19 years.  She enjoyed gardening, crafting, and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. 

Nancy was predeceased by her parents; husband, Francis DeCesare in 2001; sister, Beverly Menard; brother, George Brayton; and a baby great-granddaughter,  Annalee Rose Harrington.

Surviving family members include her children, Rebecca Harrington and her husband, Robert, of Sutton, Raymond DeCesare of Newport, and Mary-Beth Scanlon and her husband, Bill, of Newport; grandchildren, Daniel Harrington and his wife, Kristen, of Enfield, Joshua Harrington and his wife, Elizabeth, of Canaan, Kaplan Scanlon of Croydon, Brandon DeCesare, Ryan DeCesare of Newport, and Devin DeCesare of Newport; and great-grandchildren, Matthew Reid Harrington, Theo Riley Harrington, Marcus William Scanlon, and Evelyn Rose Scanlon. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church in Newport. 

Calling hours will be held on Thursday September 15, 2022 from 6 - 7 PM at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Newport, NH.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following day on Friday at 1 PM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 32 Beech Street in Newport.  Burial will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery with a reception to follow.
