Naomi Brown Obituary

Naomi Rachel Brown, known lovingly as "Nomi," "Roaming Gnome," and "Pib" to those closest to her, passed away on June 10, 2026, at the age of 39. Born on August 12, 1986, in Newport, New Hampshire, Naomi lived her entire life rooted in the community she called home.

Naomi was, above all else, a fighter. She survived open heart surgery and breast cancer, and at the time of her passing, she was working toward receiving a kidney transplant. Through every battle, she carried herself with a strength and authenticity that inspired everyone around her. She was a warrior in the truest sense, unafraid to stand up for what was right and fiercely protective of the people she loved.

She earned her associate degree in early childhood education, a path that reflected her natural gift for nurturing others. But her proudest achievement was being a mother to her two daughters, Isabella Brown and Ruby Downs. Naomi was a momma bear through and through, always willing to throw down for her girls and for anyone she considered family. And once she called you family, she never turned her back on you. She was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back without a second thought.

Naomi found joy in arts and crafts, trips to the beach, and quiet moments spent with her children and loved ones. She was also deeply invested in supporting her fellow dialysis patients, always striving to bring a smile to their faces during some of their hardest days.

Naomi is survived by her daughters, Isabella Brown and Ruby Downs; her mother, Suzi Brown; her brother, Zachariah Brown; and her sister, Megan Brown. She was preceded in death by her father, Bryant Brown; her grandfather, Charles Pockett; and her grandmother, Vieno Pockett. May she find peace and rest in the company of those who went before her.

Service details will be shared with family and friends.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude: thank you to our friends and family who have been here through this heartbreaking time. Your love and presence have meant more than words can say.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday July 9th from 2pm to 4pm at Haserlat Memorial Park in Newport right next to the airport. Please bring a favorite bumper sticker (she loved them), a nice memory, a story, or even a picture of Naomi. Please wear white or bright colors.
