If you wish to honor his service, a funeral procession will be held starting at 42 Main Street, Newport, NH at 9 AM traveling through Sunapee, New London, Wilmot, Andover, and Salisbury before arriving in Boscawen. People are welcome to line the procession route.
Son of Russell Jenne Norcross and Dorotha Giltner Norcross
Older Brother of Milton Dean Norcross
Eighty-three years ago, a seventeen-year-old boy left New Hampshire to serve a cause greater than himself. As a radio-gunner aboard a TBM-3 Avenger, he gave his “last full measure of devotion” in the skies over the South Pacific on March 16, 1945.
Though he was lost to his family, he was never truly forgotten. Identified in June 2025 and returned to his home state in July 2026, we will gather to restore his name and honor his sacrifice.
We will not gather as strangers, but as a grateful nation welcoming a brother home.
