Patricia Ann (Smith) Scarpa

Patricia Ann Scarpa (Smith), 84, passed away peacefully at Woodlawn Care Center in Newport, New Hampshire on Friday, September 8th 2023.

Patricia is survived by her 5 children; Sheryl Pelland, Bonnie White, Guy Scarpa, Stephen Scarpa, and Timothy Scarpa. 9 Grandchildren; Kevin Corriveau, Christopher Corriveau, Carrie Sarah Green, Danial Pelland, Kristy Cryans, Eugene Kilchewski, Guy Scarpa Jr., Jenna Scarpa, and Gregory Scarpa. 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Patricia is predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Guy Rodney Scarpa. Patricia was born June 20, 1939 in the small town of Antwerp, New York. She later moved to Wallingford Connecticut attending Lyman Hall High School where she met Guy; her high school sweetheart. They married January 13th, 1956 in Wallingford where they settled, raised their children and enjoyed many wonderful years with family and friends at their home on North Branford Road. They often had gatherings at their home that always included lots of delicious food. Patricia was a great cook and frequently had requests from family members when visiting; especially for her potato salad during summer picnics.

Patricia enjoyed the outdoors and later moved to Newbury New Hampshire where she lived out her life with her husband Guy. She loved to vacation in the Adirondack Mountains and had a special place on Cranberry Lake where she would relax and enjoy the solitude of the lake, wilderness and wildlife.  

Patricia was a kind and caring mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family.

Patricia’s family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Thursday, Sept. 14th from 10 to 11am. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11am. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
