Philip Glazier, Sr. Obituary

Newport NH: Philip Lester Glazier Sr. passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 10th 2022 at Woodlawn Care Center. Born on June 9th 1935 in Leverett, MA, to Lester A and Bessie E Glazier, he was 87 years old.

He graduated from Newport Towle High School in 1953 where he served as Class President and also played on the football team. He was an avid sports fan and loved his Red Sox and Patriots. He married his high school sweetheart, Joyce A Newell and they were married until the time of his passing.

After high school he enlisted into the armed services. He served 4 years as a proud member of the United States Coast Guard. Upon his return, because of the skills he learned, he was immediately hired by IBM.

He held several executive positions at IBM as well as other computer corporations such as Dialog and ACTS Computing before starting his own company, Actiondata, in Dearborn MI. Philip was known as “ Mr G” by his employees. After selling Actiondata he became an entrepreneur running businesses such as the Carrol Motel, Holy Cow restaurant and Tuttle Brook log home development, all in Twin Mt NH.

His greatest achievement in life was as a loving family man, raising three sons who adored him. One of the last things that he said was “I have had a wonderful life!”

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joyce A Glazier, who loved him every day they had together; son Christopher Glazier and son Bruce Glazier and his wife Tammy Glazier; sister Sue Baker and her husband Stanley Baker; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

He was predeceased by his beloved eldest son Philip Glazier Jr; his parents; brother Norman Glazier; and his sister Ruth Gardner.
