Newport, NH: R. Craig Williams of Newport, NH passed away in the arms and presence of his loving wife and daughters at Concord Hospital in Concord, NH.
Craig was born in Rockville, Connecticut, the son of the late George Williams and Joan Davis (Lord). It wasn’t long into his life before George left the family, and Joan met the wonderful man whom Craig called Dad, the late William V. Lord. Craig also shared his childhood with his six siblings- Donal Williams, Terry Williams (Gonnion), Bill Williams, Jimmy Williams, Dee Williams, and his baby sister whom he had a special soft spot for, Betty Jo Williams (Morrow).
Craig grew up in Newport, NH graduating Newport High School with the class of 1973. He had done some newspaper delivery in the town of Newport, and volunteering with the Sunapee Fire Department. He also spent some time working at Kents Diner. After graduating high school, he set out to work at LaValley Building Supply in Newport, to which he came to dedicating his hard work for 50 years! Craig was a jack of all trades at his job, but spent a large portion of his time in the door shop and doing locksmith jobs - but really you could find him anywhere he was called upon there. He loved his job, his boss Harold and his wife Gerry. Craig met his first wife with whom he had his first child with, Megan Williams (Oxland). Their time came to an end and they parted ways and he later met his second wife with whom he had a son, Davis Williams, and a daughter, Lynzee Williams. Their time also came to an end, and shortly after he married his third and final wife, Brenda Lamery (Williams). Together they shared a loving 26 years, with his final breath being in her loving arms. Craig accepted two more daughters into his life when he married Brenda, Trisha Sturtevant and Jennifer Hodgman, whom he loved very much. Together they also shared four cats that he loved-Tigger, Dippy, Oliver and Oscar.
Craig was a man that had many interests. He had a side job working with Speedway Safety Services, working at Nascar tracks where he had the pleasure of meeting several of the drivers, his favorite being Richard Petty, and got to watch many races that he loved sharing stories about! He loved Nascar, the Red Sox, the Patriots, and playing golf with friends. He loved his motorcycle rides with his wife, and together they shared many joy rides. If you ever wanted to find Craig, you never had to look much farther than the Newport Moose Lodge. He loved everything about the Moose and all it stood for. He was a proud Pilgrim at his lodge, having served in many positions at lodge 1236. You would always find him at karaoke nights with GoDan and all his friends, often singing and dancing along with all the music. He shared his passion for cooking with them often assisting in things like steak dinners, fish frys, breakfasts, and any other event that needed a cook! He was always happy and ready to dedicate his time there no matter what it was. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes, cribbage, and pool there as well. Every chance he got, he wanted to share drinks with friends and share in laughs as he would crack his silly jokes. As time went on and he was able to do less, Craig enjoyed watching some of his favorite tv channels-Game show network, Reelz, and animal planet-often snacking on his plain chips or his candy dish that he shared with his grandson Abel. You could also find him convincing Jenn to do anything he could get her to help him with around the house!
Craig is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Williams, his children-Megan Oxland and her husband Corey of Sunapee, NH; His daughter Lynzee Williams and her boyfriend Adam of Claremont, NH, his daughter Trisha Sturtevant of Newport, NH; and his daughter Jennifer Hodgman of Newport, NH. He is also survived by his grandchildren- Riley and Jaime Oxland; Michael Williams; Emmett and Sebastian Burrows; Skyler, Sierra and CJ Hodgman; Abel Arsenault; and his newest great grandson, Levi Phillips. He is also survived by his son, daughter in law, and their two children who have asked to remain unnamed. He is predeceased by his biological father George Williams, his Dad and Mom William V.
