Randall Waterman Obituary

Guild, NH-Randall Waterman, 72, of Cottage Street, passed away quietly on October 11, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born at the Carrie F. Wright Hospital in Newport, NH on May 16, 1952 the son of the late Stanley Fred Waterman and Marion Ethel (Richardson) Waterman.

Randy graduated from Newport High School in 1972 and worked as a logger, drywaller and then worked for over 40 years with Durgin and Crowell.  He retired from that job in 2022. Even after he retired, he continued to work, doing landscaping with his cousin, Kim.

Always on the move, Randy was a lifelong runner often breaking records and held several NH road race records as well as track records.  He enjoyed helping others with projects and also doing his own home projects.  In his younger years he liked to bowl at Sunset Lanes and more recently enjoyed traveling and taking cruises.  He hiked in the woods and on railtrails and would help his brother, Dana, time races as part of Pinnacle Timing.  Cowboy shows were his favorite.  A lover of animals, Randy would help care for pets of relatives but he especially loved his cats, Saki and Lui.

He is predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Marion, his stepson, Rob Curtis and siblings, Peggy Lockwood, Stanley Waterman, Jr., Marshall “Mutt” Waterman, Nancy Sartwell and Robin Waterman.  Randy is survived by his wife, Brenda (Clement) Curtis of Guild, NH; his daughter, Brandy Waterman and her husband, Luke Avery of Newport, NH; a stepdaughter, Jessica Thibodeau and her daughter, Ashlynn of Canaan, NH; siblings, Dana (Laurie) Waterman of Newport, NH, Marsha Bailey of Charlestown, NH, Laurie (Rusty) Bolton of Claremont, NH, Gayle Barrows of Claremont, NH and Darryl (Terrie) Waterman of Lempster, NH; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at the Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Newport, NH on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 P.M.  A celebration of Randy’s life will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. at The Newport Moose Family Center, 18 Golf Club Road, Newport, NH.
