Charlestown, NH: Robert M. Billings, 85, passed away on July 18, 2026 at his home.  He was born on March 20, 1941 in Claremont, NH to the late George and Laura (Coutermarsh) Billings. Robert grew up in Sunapee and attended school there where he played basketball and was on the ski team.

 

Robert worked as an EMT, Police and firefighter for the towns of Newport and Sunapee.  He had his Master Pulmber's License, owned and operated Billings Plumbing and Heating with his father for many years and also worked as the boiler operator at Maplewood Nursing Home.  He also had his Stationary Engineer Certificate. He loved to fish and go camping.  He took many trips to Pittsburg, NH to enjoy the outdoors.  In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting.  He loved trains and rode them all the way on a trip to California.  Robert was a member of the Newport Lions Club. He was pretty proud to hold a Lifetime NRA membership.

 

Robert is survived by his children: Heather Fraser (Craig Colli) of Claremont, Roxanne Seale (Bill) of Sunapee, and Melissa Bean (Bob) of Charlestown; partner, Regina Holt of Charlestown; first wife and mother of his children, Patricia Conroy; grandchildren, Dustin Fraser (Rachel) of Newport, Christopher Seale (girlfriend Taylor) of Goshen, Anthony Vaitkunas ( Fiancé Kate) of Warwick, RI, and step-grandson, Brendan Bean ( Fiancé Ashlee) of Charlestown; and cousins, Laureen Marquis of Rutland, VT, and Virginia Bigelow of Vermont.
