Robert Clough Obituary

Claremont, NH - Robert Carroll Clough, 70, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Brookside Avenue in Claremont, NH on January 14, 2026 and is the son of Doris (Strout) Clough of Newport, NH and the late Robert H. Clough. He was born in Claremont, NH on October 30, 1955 and grew up in Unity, NH. He attended Unity Elementary School in Unity, NH and Stevens High School in Claremont, NH. He is survived by his wife, Christie Clough of Claremont, NH; his daughters, Jennifer (Craig) Seagrove of Newport, NH and Tiffany (Phil) Roberts of Keene, NH; his siblings, Bruce Clough (girlfriend Jo) of Unity, NH, Sally Lamb (boyfriend Jim) of Hurt, VA, Randall (Ruth) Clough of Webster, FL, and Ann Marie (Pete) Jacques of Keene, NH; his grandchildren, Cheyenne (Dakota) Kowalczyk of Newport, NH, Zachary Seagrove of Keene, NH, Erin Seagrove of Newport, NH, PJ Roberts (girlfriend Jaeda) of Keene, NH, Jordan Lord (fiancée Karah) of Dublin, NH, Joey Lord (girlfriend Emma) of Keene, NH; his great grandson, Westley Seagrove of Walpole, NH; his stepsons, Gregory Harper III of Woonsocket, RI, Logan Harper (girlfriend Ashli) of Warriors Mark, PA, Zachary Harper (girlfriend Lexi) of Claremont, NH, and Alexander Harper (girlfriend Julia) of Claremont, NH; his step grandson, Barrett Harper of Claremont, NH; Carlton LaClair of Claremont, NH (lifelong friend since grade school), Glenn Evans of Pembroke, NH (longtime trucking buddy); his mother in law, Cindy Glidden of Claremont, NH; his ex-wife, Cheryl Russell of Keene, NH (Jennifer and Tiffany’s mother); and many other extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Brian Clough of North Haverhill, NH and his beloved former mother-in-law, Shirley Castor of Keene, NH and many close friends.

He never worried about the materialistic things. He appreciated the little things. He loved Old Country music and dancing (especially the twist). He knew the names of the songs and who sang them. He was a walking GPS and loved to go for rides, but would go so many different ways to get to the same destination that people couldn’t remember how to get there. He loved fishing with his grandchildren and step sons, teaching them the “ins and outs” of brook fishing and going to fishing derbies. One of his favorite pastimes was going out with many different friends and family members to go ice fishing.

Bob always worked hard to provide for his family. He worked as a machinist for many years at Central Screws in Keene, NH, NH Ball Bearings in Peterborough, NH, and MPB in Keene, NH. He worked as a truck driver for United Construction in Newport, NH.

His grandchildren called him “Pops” or “Papa”. He took 3 of his grandchildren on their first big trip to Florida and taught them to drive. He went to everything his grandchildren were involved in; he was always in the crowd.
He loved the outdoors, fishing, his family, friends, Bingo, gambling, and bowling at Yankee Lanes in Keene, NH for the Wednesday night Men’s League. He loved to play Bingo with his wife and granddaughter, Erin. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and was proud of all their accomplishments. He loved getting on his motorcycle and riding for hours.

Bob loved spending time with his brother, Bruce. He would also help Bruce with the Devil’s Playground Haunted Walk.

Memorial donations may be made to the Claremont Senior Center, 5 Acer Heights Road, Claremont, NH 03743.

There will be no services per Bob’s wishes, but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
