Goshen, NH: Robert “Bob” B. Daignault passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on April 16, 2025. He was born on December 29, 1943 in Claremont, NH to the late Robert J. and Rachel A. (LaPorte) Daignault-Hoff.
Bob grew up in Claremont and lived his entire life in the area. He worked at Joy Manufacturing, and was an EMT and ambulance driver, and spent more than 20 years as a Newport Firefighter. Bob was a jack of all trades and loved to drive. He drove all kinds of trucks; logging trucks, delivering soda, and delivering cordwood. Bob enjoyed woodworking and opened his own sign making shop. He was a former member of the Moose.
Bob married Sally (Gobin) Daignault and they spent 62 years together. The surviving family includes their children; Robert Jr. “Bobby” Daignault of Charlestown, Crystal Durgin of Goshen, son in law Howard (Gig) Durgin of Newport, NH Terri Curtis and her husband, Doug, of Croydon, and Wendy Daignault of Springfield, VT; sister, Cheryl Hoisington and her husband, Dan, of Claremont; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends. Bob was predeceased by his parents and by his brother, Glen Daignault, and by an infant granddaughter, Cassandra Durgin.
Calling hours will be held on Friday April 25, 2025 from 9 - 10:30 AM at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Newport, NH. A graveside service will follow at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Claremont, NH with a reception to follow at Salt Hill Pub catering building in Newport.
