Robert "Bob" Menard, loving husband and father of two sons, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2022 at the age of 69.
Bob was born on May 24, 1953 in New Bedford, Massachusetts. He attended Catholic school where he met life time friends. Bob met his wife, Elizabeth Ruth Parker, married on May 26, 1972.
They made their home in Grantham, New Hampshire where they raised their two sons Joshua and Jeremiah.
He spent over 15 years as a master carpenter, opened an electronic repair business and was well known for his hand crafted candles and soaps.
Bob had a strong connection to nature. In his early days he would go hiking and climb waterfalls with his friends. He was a huntsman and avid fisherman. You could always find him at local fishing spots making new friends. Bob brought his keen wilderness spirit to his family where they enjoyed multiple adventures and camping.
Bob was inspired by his father Willy, as he was a popular local musician. Having musical instruments around, Bob started writing and performing his own music. At a young age, with his twin brother Ron along with some classmates, they started a rock band. The band was started in the garage and quickly became "the place to be" for all the neighborhood kids. The Beatles had a strong influence on him as he continued to create music all his life with other bands. He was well known for his unique skills with the harmonica and banjo. Never shying away to step up and play a solo or carry the rhythm. He was always experimenting to get a perfect sound with different effects with his harmonica. In his later years he picked up playing the guitar which reignited the spark and passion he had for music.
He would often be called upon by local bands to hop on stage where he took over the spot light. He was extremely proud of his extensive catalog of music and the equipment he had to play it on. His proudest moments with music came when he was performing and recording with his son's band.
Bob was well known for being the life of the party and known for his sense of humor. He was always generous and caring.
He and his siblings would have legendary parties that would last for days. Everyone in town or out of town were always welcomed.
Most of all, Bob was a generous, caring man. He touched so many lives with his witty sense of humor. He was always there to put a smile on your face. He put his family and friends first and never expected anything in return.
Bob was preceded in death by his father "Willy", mother and his sister Marie Rose Donth. He will be sorely missed and survived by his wife of 50 years, Liz, Eldest son Joshua, younger son Jeremiah, granddaughters Amber, Jasmine, Kalia, grandson Evan, great granddaughter Rosalie, twin brother Ronald, oldest brother Richard, sister Louise, and nieces and nephews Jennifer, Rachel, Heidi, Andrea, Steven, Peter, Tim, Tom, Dan, Randy, Austin, and Shawn.
Bob was very proud of his children and grandchildren and all their accomplishments. They were always in his heart.
Come join him in one last party to celebrate his life.
