Ronald Kempton

Ronald ("JP Ron") Justice of the Peace Kempton, eldest of nine children of Wilson Silas Kempton, Jr. and Julia May Roy, passed away on February 14, 2023 at Sullivan County Health Center, Unity, NH.

Ron graduated from Towle High School, Newport, NH in 1958. He served in the Army National Guard for several years, and was a member of the American Legion Post 0025 here in Newport, NH.

Ronald worked various jobs throughout Sullivan County, retiring from the Department of Transportation of NH after 35 years.

Ron's life centered around his home at Goshen Four Corners and his love for his Newfoundland dogs. Ron was very much involved in his community and town politics. If you knew Ron, he had a nickname for you.

Ronald was predeceased by his parents, his brothers: Wilson, Raymond, Leon, Rodney, and his sister Helen. Surviving members: his sister Henrietta Hodgman (Bruce) of Goshen, Charles Kempton, Sr. (Muriel) of Claremont, and Sidney Menard (Nancy) of North Newport, his Aunt, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to thank everyone at the Sullivan County Health Center and the complete staff of the MacConnell Unit for their thoughtfulness and care for Ron. Also, a thank you goes out to Dr. Sullivan and the staff of the Kane Center at Valley Regional Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Goshen Fire Department, or to the Olive Pettis Library of 36 Mill Village Road, North Goshen, NH, 03752.

Ronald will be missed. Ronald, may you rest in peace.
