Lempster, New Hampshire — Ronald “Ron” Pepin passed away after a long, full life on the mountain he loved in Lempster, NH. A devoted partner, a proud father figure, a master of his craft, and a familiar sight behind the wheel of a gleaming classic car, Ron’s presence was a constant comfort to his family and a cherished part of his town’s everyday rhythm.
Ron was predeceased by the love of his life, Margaret Bliss. Together, they built a home and a family grounded in steadfast care and good humor. When Ron embraced Margaret’s six children, he did so wholly and forever, serving as a father figure throughout their lives. He was also predeceased by one of those children, Paul Bliss, whom he deeply missed, and by his parents, Emil Pepin and Helen Pepin.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Ron served in France, carrying forward the discipline, camaraderie, and quiet sense of duty that military service instills. That same care and precision defined his career: he worked 20 years at Savage Arms and 20 years at Ruger, earning the respect of colleagues for the pride he took in a job done right.
A fixture on the classic car scene, Ron could often be spotted cruising the streets of Lempster in one of his beautiful showpieces, paint gleaming, chrome polished and a smile on his face. Cars were more than a hobby, they were a language of community for him, a way to connect, swap stories, and make friends wherever the road led.
Summers for Ron were defined by family and the lake. He delighted in welcoming his 13 grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren to enjoy sunny days by the water, laughing at being lovingly teased as “flatlanders.”
Ron’s legacy is quite literally built into the landscape he loved. The family will continue to honor and celebrate his life in the home he built with his own hands, a testament to his skill, his grit, and his quiet pride in making something enduring.
The family extends special thanks to the neighbors who helped Ron live independently as he aged in his home. Your kindness and practical help meant the world and let him stay rooted in the place he cherished most.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In the meantime, loved ones are invited to share stories and memories of Ron, especially those of Sunday drives, lake days, and the gentle grin that accompanied “flatlanders,” always said with love.
