Sharon Ann (Blood) Sturtevant, known affectionately by her family as “Mom,” “Gram,” and “Meme,” reunited with her late husband of 40 years Richard Sturtevant, after passing away peacefully in her home in Newport, New Hampshire on September 13th, 2025. She passed at the age of 76 in the comfort of her own home after five weeks of hospice surrounded by family and friends. She was predeceased by her father Gordon Blood Sr., her mother Dora Blood, and her older brother Leon Blood.
Sharon was born December 2nd, 1948 in Claremont, NH and graduated from Towle High School in Newport in the graduating class of 1967. Sharon will be remembered by her brother Gordon Blood Junior, her sons Joseph Sturtevant and Ryan Sturtevant, her daughters-in-law Stacey and Kim Sturtevant, her grandchildren Joshua Sturtevant, Danielle Sturtevant-Rankin, Starr Root, Livia Sturtevant, Emily Sturtevant, and her many close family and friends.
Sharon was a talented seamstress for many years leading up to retirement, a career well-suited to her considering the care and creativity she always provided to her work and family life. Her house provided a warm, welcoming space for her family to laugh during family game nights and feel comfort during the evening. Sharon’s hobbies included watching her favorite TV shows, Big Brother and Judge Judy, and reading romance novels.
A Graveside Service will be held, rain or shine, on September 28, 2025, from 2:30-3:30 at Pine Grove Cemetery, Sunapee Street in Newport, NH.
Sharon's legacy lives on in the hearts and memories shared by those who knew her best, her love stitched into every corner of their hearts.
