Sherry L (Underwood) Young

Newport, NH: Sherry L. Young, 63, passed away peacefully at the Jack Byrne Hospice House in Lebanon, NH on January 26, 2020.  She was born on March 2, 1956 in Claremont, NH to the late Calvin and Joanne (Neimi) Underwood. 

Sherry grew up in Newport and has lived in the area her entire life.  She worked at Encore Shoe, Arlington Sample Book and Hampshire Manufacturing.  She was a bit of a homebody, who enjoyed spending time with her cats, cooking and collecting things, especially Beanie Babies.  Sherry was a wonderful grandmother, her greatest joy was being "Santa Claus" to her grandbabies and spending as much time with them as possible. She also liked watching horror movies with them and beating them at board games.
Sherry was predeceased by her parents and grandparents.

Surviving family include her husband, Steve Young Sr. of Newport, stepson, Steve Young Jr. and his wife, Michelle of Danbury, stepson, Chris LaClair of Claremont, brother, Bruce Underwood and his wife, Tootsie of VA, sisters, Karen Vysocky and her husband, Ed of Newport, and Laurie Geer and her husband, Rodney of Newport, grandchildren, Haley Young, Steve Young III, and Brianna Young and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. 

Memorial calling hours are Sunday February 9th from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Newport, NH.
