Newport, NH: Stephen W. Swensen, 81, passed away peacefully at New London Hospital on April 3, 2024.  He was born on September 6, 1942 in Somerville, MA to the late Dudley and Mildred Swensen.

Stephen was a longtime Newport resident.  He worked at Ruger for more than 40 years.  He and his wife, Priscilla, shared 45 years together before her death in 2022. 

Surviving family members include his son, Robert Swensen of Newport; daughter, Deborah Ann Swensen of MA; step son, Craig LaClair and his wife, Amanda, of Sunapee; brother, Bill Swensen and his wife, Jeannine; sister, Judy Kotz; grandchildren, Sierra Melnick and her husband, Eddie White, Robert Swensen, Jr. and his partner, Amanda Bastarache; and great-grandson, Chayce.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm in Eastman Cemetery in Sunapee on Saturday, May 18, 2024.  Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home is respectfully handling arrangements.
