Lempster, NH: Theodore (Ted) L. Kelsey, 90, died peacefully at his son’s home surrounded by his family on September 10th, 2020. Ted was the son of the late Oscar and Beatrice (Lyford) Kelsey. He is survived by his 4 children; Diane Bowles and her husband James of Wonalancet, NH; David Kelsey of Lempster, NH; Karen Benoît and her husband Jean of Lee, NH; Barbara Mariacher of Lee, NH; and their Mother Marian Kelsey of Lee, NH as well as his 12 grandchildren. He remained close to the Lyford side of his family.
Ted was born in Concord, NH and attended Penacook High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy from the University of New Hampshire. He went on to join the Armed Forces where he was a Corporal in the Army for several years. Ted and Marian had a dairy farm in Croydon, NH before moving to farm life in Lee, NH. There they raised their children while he worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a Soil Scientist. After 37 years he retired and enjoyed working with his son Dave renovating apartments. Most recently Ted resided at Presidential Oaks in Concord, NH with his companion Bev Eugonis.
Ted had a passion for the outdoors working the fields and hiking NH trails. He also enjoyed researching his family history along with the history of his hometown of Penacook, NH.
The family would like to thank all of those that showed great compassion and care to Ted during the last few weeks of his life.
