Timothy Maley Obituary

Timothy “Turbo Tim” James Maley, 66, of Newport, NH, died peacefully on March 8, 2026, at Nashua Post Acute Care in Nashua, NH after a brief time with dementia.

Tim was born on October 23, 1959, and was welcomed into the arms of James and Elizabeth (Jubb) Maley.

His children remember him as a kind and fun father who always encouraged them to pursue their goals and supported whatever road they chose. He made sure there was always gas in the wheelers and air in the tires for endless rides around the house and on the trails.

He also made sure they learned important life skills. Tim taught them how to drive manual transmissions—something Kayla remembers well. When she wanted to take the 1987 Chevy one-ton truck to school, he told her she first had to be able to stop and start on a hill. If she couldn’t do that, it was a no-go. Needless to say, Tim was a patient teacher, and eventually her wish was granted.

Kris remembers Tim teaching them how to ride the 250X in the sand bowl at Weed’s Pit. If they crashed, Tim would say, “Rub some dirt on it, you’ll be fine,” or “Suck it up and get back on and ride.” And they did—over and over again.

Tim had quite the sweet tooth and was often found enjoying Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups or a good ol' Nutty Buddy and a Snapple Raspberry Iced Tea. Even in his final days, those treats were still a request. He loved the outdoors—camping, fishing, classic trucks, and cars—and he was most proud of sharing his love of dirt bikes and wheelers with his children.

Tim was predeceased by his parents, James and Elizabeth (Jubb) Maley of Newport, NH.

He is survived by his children, Kayla Brehio and her husband Gabe of Lempster, NH, and Kristofer Maley and his wife Tara Yurek of Claremont, NH; his sister, Julia (Maley) Cartier and her husband Gregg Cartier of Newport, NH; as well as many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Tim will be remembered for his love of life, his big smile, enormous heart, and the jokes that always brought endless laughter. One of his favorites was, “You can tune a piano, but you can’t tune a fish,” usually followed by his contagious laugh.

There will be no formal services. Tim will be laid to rest with his parents at a later date in a small gathering of family.

Keep on keepin’ on.
