Van E Wiggins

Van E. Wiggins, a life-long resident of Sunapee, NH, passed away on Sunday, July 16th 2023 surrounded by family at DHMC.  His passing follows a month and a half battle with multiple, serious health issues.

Van was born to Robert and Myrtle Wiggins of Sunapee NH on June 2nd, 1956.  He was the youngest of four children and enjoyed growing up in Sunapee; skiing during the winters and swimming as soon as it was warm enough.  During his senior year of high school, Van met the love of his life, Sharon Reed, whom he would marry shortly after graduating.  They were together 50 years, married 49.  Together, they had two boys, Robert and Van.  During the summers, it was family tradition to go to the ocean. That tradition started when Van and Sharon were first together, and would continue through raising both boys and after.  

Van worked his whole life in Sunapee, first doing construction for his dad and then working for Micro-Precision, and then back to construction with his son Van.  He was known throughout town for his dog-walking; he would walk his dogs through the center of town multiple times daily.  He made many good friends doing this and was almost a fixture of the town because of it.  

Van is survived by his wife Sharon, son Robert and his lifetime partner Donna, son Van and his wife Amanda, granddaughter Ezri, brother Dennis and his wife Lynne, sister Rose and her husband Bill, and sister Nita.  He is predeceased by his parents Robert and Myrtle.

There is going to be a celebration of life held for dad on Sunday, July 30th at 2pm at his and mom's house at 46 High street in Sunapee. We're doing a pot luck/BBQ per dad's wishes, so feel free to show up and remember Van.
