Vivian E. (Nedeau) Holland

Newport, NH – Vivian E. (Nedeau) Holland, 96, passed away peacefully at her home on January 16, 2020.

She was born on July 1, 1923, in Gorham, NH, to the late James and Anne (King) Nedeau.

She graduated from Gorham High School with the class of 1942 and then went to college at Northhampton (MA) Commercial College for Business.

Vivian married Richard Holland in 1949 and the two shared 29 wonderful years together.

She worked for Bryant Chucking Grinder in Springfield, VT, before becoming the business manager for her husband’s business, Holland’s Electric.  She then worked numerous years as a legal secretary in the law office of Michael Work, Newport.  She also worked several years for Newport Chiropractic and then part-time at the Newport Senior Center.  She finally retired at age 90!

Vivian enjoyed cooking, reading, ceramics, travel and gatherings with family and friends.  She cherished her loved ones deeply, and kept her family and friends close to her heart, always.

She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, brothers Bradley and Bernard Nedeau, and sister Shirley Hart. 

She is survived by her children: Deborah Holland and husband Paul Berliner of Concord, NH, Stephen Holland and wife Elizabeth of Somersworth, NH, and Shelley Holland and partner Willie Jackson of Sarasota, FL; 4 grandchildren:  Jennifer Blyer (husband Michael), Richard Holland, Tiara Small, and James Small; 4 step-grandchildren: Susan Berliner, Sharon Lee, Kristen Singleton, and Karen Speedling, and their families; 2 great-grandchildren, Owen and Lucas Blyer; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Services will be held at a later date in the spring.
