Wendy Bennett Obituary

Newport, NH-Wendy Bennett, 61, of Cheney Street, died April 7, 2025 at her home.

She was born in Newport, NH on April 17, 1963 the daughter of the late Donald H. and Ursula S. (Marx) Bennett.

Wendy was a lifelong resident of Newport and graduated from Newport High School in 1981.  As a young girl, she would often visit her paternal grandparents who lived “just up the hill”.  She studied computer science at Keene State College and then was employed by Lake Sunapee Bank as a proof operator.

Her favorite pastime was researching, and in particular, military history.  Attending air shows in her younger years, Wendy knew a great deal about planes, trains and classic cars.  She also enjoyed watching her favorite sports teams-the NY Giants, Bruins and Red Sox.  Wendy had a knack for storytelling that was both entertaining and educational.  She liked to watch the wildlife and neighborhood pets wander through the yard.  Her attention to detail was phenomenal especially when making model airplanes.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday May 1 at 11 AM in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Newport, NH.
