William Palmer Obituary
Unity, NH: William Henry Palmer, 94, passed away at Sullivan County Health Care on Thursday, January 2, 2025. He lived in the Sunapee / Springfield area all his life and enjoyed time in Kentucky for family visits and, of course, fishing.
William was born on June 25, 1930 in Sunapee, NH to the late Allen Palmer and Mildred (Eastman) Palmer. After graduating high school, he joined the Army. When he returned to Sunapee, he became a member of the Sunapee Fire Department on the Ladder Company from 1951 to 1973. He also worked at Dorr Woolen for 25 years, retiring in 1992.
He was predeceased by his wife, Elva Carrie Palmer and son Robert Palmer.
He is survived by his son, Wayne Palmer with wife Virginia; grandchildren: Ryan Palmer with girlfriend Jessica Dennis, Kimberly (Palmer) DeGrasse with husband Jeff and Bradley Palmer with wife Amanda; great grandchildren: Dylan, Caleb, Hayden, Bryce, Lilly and Leah Palmer
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday May 3, 2025 at 11 AM in Eastman Cemetery on North Road in Sunapee. In lieu of flowers, go get some live bait and hit the ice and catch the big one for William.
